Bolddog History
In 1990 Lings Motorcycles
sponsored two riders to race motocross at local
Eastern Centre events, Andy Godbold and Richard
Bunning.
In 1994, Andy and Richard along with Richard’s
two Brothers, Phil and Mark were asked by Lings Motorcycles
to put on a basic motocross demonstration. This
was headed by Lings manager Paul Barkshire.
After
further successful local shows, at the beginning
of 1996, Lings and Andy
teamed up to put on a more professional show. Lings gave
Andy full sponsorship to perform at shows nation-wide.
Andy Godbold, officially launched the Lings Honda
Motocross Display Team, and started trading in
January 1996. Lings supplied the team with 4 motocross
bikes, 3 quads, a generator and kids Mini bike. The
team has run on this basis up until now, booked
every single weekend during the summer months.
In 1998, after the Team performed on the TV Shows Yoy Bet and Don't Try This At Home, Andy met stunt co-ordinators on these TV Shows, who told him about becoming a professional stuntman for film and TV. This involved Andy doing a number of sports diciplins to a very high standard, and also joining Equity. Team was in more demand than ever, but could see
the need for change. With the introduction of freestyle
motocross that was often featured on extreme sports
TV programmes, the team could see they needed to
move in this direction and soon adapted their show
to cater for this.
Consequently the new freestyle ramp was constructed
and introduced into the show in July 2002 at the
National Adventure Sports Show.

So with a brand new team geared towards freestyle motocross, they needed fresh
exciting branding –
Bolddog became
the team’s
new name which in addition to the Bolddog Lings Freestyle
Team, introduced the clothing range, Bolddog clothing and the www.bolddog.co.uk on line store.
Over the next few years, the team developed their own state of the art health and fitness studio gym which was needed for them to be very fit to perform the motorcycle tricks, and helped them recover quick from injury. Consequently, in 2008, Bold dog made their gym available to the general public. Also, boxing was one of the sports that Andy did to become a professional stuntman, and hence, Bolddog also opened their own White Coillar Boxing Club and Boxing based Circuits Studio in Norwich and Metfield...
